CODS17 Mobile app for iPhone and iPad

CODS17 Mobile is the official mobile app for the Canadian Open Data Summit (CODS17), which will be held in Edmonton, Alberta on June 12 - 14, 2017.

CODS17 Mobile interacts with portable, private beacons installed throughout the conference area. Conference attendees who download the app and are near a beacon(s) will be able to:
● View the conference schedule and locations;
● Receive instructions on registration, breakfast, and peripheral activities at appropriate times;
● Receive reminders about upcoming sessions and sessions in progress that are in the attendee’s vicinity; and
● Provide anonymous feedback to the conference organizers about sessions attended.

CODS17 Mobile will use the beacons to:
1. Transmit information to attendees that is appropriate to the room or area in which the beacon is placed;
2. Count attendees (anonymously) who have the CODS17 Mobile app as they pass the conference beacons.

If you do not wish to receive information from the app or be counted by the beacons, please do not download the CODS17 Mobile app.

The data collected through CODS17 Mobile and the beacons will be used by the conference organizers to monitor attendance at and feedback from the conference sessions. All data collected will be anonymous. The organizers may share this aggregated, anonymous data on a public website which will be provided to attendees who download the CODS17 Mobile app.

CODS17 Mobile will not:
● Record, track or share any personally-identifiable information about conference attendees or their devices;
● Record, track or share movements of any conference attendees other than counting attendees anonymously when they pass within the range of a beacon.
